Students, locals gather at Texas State Capitol for Ferguson protest

Locals and students from Texas State and other universities assembled Tuesday night in front of the Texas State Capitol in Austin to protest the outcome of the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri.

On Monday, a grand jury did not indict Officer Darren Wilson for the fatal shooting of Brown. Shortly after the verdict was announced, violent protests erupted in Ferguson and spurred other large protests in cities nationwide.

The collective chanting from the protestors standing along the marble steps of the Capitol building began around 6 p.m. and lasted for several hours until the crowd's numbers dwindled. Several protestors spoke to the crowd.
