Less than a year removed from her last season with the Texas State soccer program, Tori Hale will remain in soccer – just with a new role.

Hale will be an assistant coach for the Abilene Christian women's soccer team. Abilene Christian is beginning its third season in Division I, with a 21-14-3 overall record in the Southland Conference.

"This is a big opportunity and I’m excited to be part of a program that’s rapidly growing the way it is," Hale said. "I’m thankful I get to continue working in the soccer world because I wasn’t ready to leave it just yet."

Abilene Christian is adding Hale to its coaching staff, after she set a school record in asssists (19) in three seasons. Hale's ability to break away from defenders proved to be valuable for a Bobcat team that reached the conference semifinals in each season of her career.

A third of the Bobcats' 27 goals last season were contributed by Hale.

“I think Tori is a great athlete and great player,” said Coach Kat Conner. “I think her just giving her knowledge and her ability to share with others is only going to help Abilene Christian be a conference contender. Tori is a great kid and she’ll be a great coach. She loves the game and that is going to be infectious. I wish her all the best.”
